Luxury Outdoor Living in the Mountains: A Stunning Backyard Transformation

Tucked deep into the woods with breathtaking mountain views, this property offered both a dream setting—and a unique challenge. The backyard was steeply sloped, making it difficult for the family to envision a functional outdoor living space. But that’s where our team came in.

The homeowners dreamed of a space where their children could play and their family could relax year-round. To bring that vision to life, Derek began by addressing the dramatic backyard grade. We designed and installed a large retaining wall around the property and adjacent to the home, carving out level, usable areas perfect for recreation and entertaining.

Once the groundwork was complete, the real transformation began. A custom fiberglass swimming pool became the focal point of the design. This luxury pool features a built-in tanning ledge, spiral water slide, and spillways that provide a soothing soundtrack of cascading water. For added peace of mind, we included an automatic safety cover—a must-have for families with children.

Surrounding the pool is an expansive hardscape patio, complete with a cozy fire pit—perfect for cool mountain evenings. On the upper level, a sunken hot tub offers parents a relaxing retreat while keeping a clear view of the kids at play.

To soften the stonework and elevate the design, Derek created vibrant planting beds filled with low-maintenance perennials, blending the built environment seamlessly with the natural beauty of the woods.

This backyard oasis has quickly become a favorite among guests and a treasured daily retreat for the homeowners. It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design and expert execution can transform even the most challenging landscapes into luxurious, family-friendly outdoor living spaces.
