Backyard Makeover: A Stunning Outdoor Living Space Designed for Entertaining

This home is the ultimate hangout spot—designed for relaxation, hosting, and family fun! Our clients came to us with a unique backyard challenge: a steep slope behind their newly built home that required a large retaining wall. On top of that, they wanted to create an inviting space where their teenagers would love to hang out—and bring their friends along too!

Derek, our lead designer, stepped up with a vision that checked every box for style, function, and fun. The centerpiece? A beautiful custom swimming pool complete with a tanning ledge inside the water for sun-soaked relaxation and another ledge outside the splash zone—perfect for those who want to stay dry but still enjoy the atmosphere. To make this space the go-to spot for gatherings, we installed a propane firepit surrounded by a spacious paver patio—ideal for late-night conversations and s’mores with friends. Beneath the deck, we built a full outdoor kitchen and covered dining area which gives the family a sheltered, stylish place to grill, eat, and enjoy the outdoors no matter the weather. The transformation didn’t stop in the backyard. The front of the home now features a tranquil water feature with elegant copper bowls and bubbling boulders. This eye-catching detail pairs beautifully with the paver walkway, guiding guests from the front entrance through to the expansive outdoor living space in the back. The landscaping around the home that Derek chose blends into the surrounding natural woods perfectly.
